The Kookaburra / Kindy Room 3-5 Years
Kookaburra/Kindy Room Educators Message
Hello Parents. My name is Jessica and I am the Teacher in our Kookaburra/Kindy Room. Our kindergarten program is inclusive, fun and engaging and we love to get messy in a variety of inside and outside activities as we explore our imagination, creativity and make choices within our environment.
Our program is planned from the children’s interests, making our learning both informative and relevant to our everyday lives as we continue to build and extend on our learning in a variety of ways.
We pride ourselves on getting to know our families and incorporating family input into our program, sharing culture and extending on our knowledge of culture as we focus on our families, traditions and what makes us all unique and different.
Our play space encourages nature-based experiences through our sustainable playground and encourages flexibility through our inside - outside program.
We encourage children’s choice and independence as we explore and learn, fostering thinking skills, self-help skills, social skills and skills that will prepare us for school readiness.
Our Kindergarten Program is approved by the Queensland Government and is run by me (a fully qualified Early Childhood Teacher). Our program is based on the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline which is aligned directly with the Early Years Learning Framework.
These frameworks inform our planning, decision making and all aspects of our everyday as we get to know your children, family and learn and grow together.
Jessica, Gillian, Vicki and Karen

Parent Testimonial
Our 5 children have all attended Uniting Church Child Care Centre Gympie. It has been an association that has spanned 14 years. Our children have all made so many memories at the centre and have always felt safe and secure with their educators. The staff are amazing and from the very beginning, our family was welcomed into the Uniting Church Child Care Centre Gympie family with open arms.... and they truly have been like a second family for us.
The Director and office staff have always been so accommodating and nothing is ever too much trouble. They greet us each morning and afternoon with a smile and often a quick (or long) chat. It is a sad time for us as a family because our youngest will start prep in a few weeks so there will be no more smiles, greetings and stickers on the way through the office or cuddles as Mummy or Daddy head off to work.
I have laughed, cried and shared stories with this extended family and I’m so grateful they have been part of mine and my children’s life.
